Pastor Ben & Michelle Godwin
Rev. Ben Godwin has served as pastor of the Goodsprings Full Gospel Church for the past 24 years. Ben began preaching at the age of thirteen and has been in full-time ministry since 1987. He holds a Bachelor of Theology degree from Christian Life School of Theology in Columbus, Georgia. Ben and his wife, Michelle, have been married since 1992. They work together as a team in ministry.
Brother Ben has shared his miracle testimony, how God replaced three inches of bone in his leg, in numerous churches, camps, schools, and conferences in the U.S. and in five foreign countries (Costa Rica, Canada, Mexico, Honduras, and Russia). He also writes a monthly religious column for the Daily Mountain Eagle newspaper which is posted on Facebook and Twitter and often reposted at Charismamag.com and other online publications. He also produces a weekly television program called The Word Workshop.
Michelle is a pastor’s daughter, organist, singer, and has worked in youth ministry for over 30 years. She attended Lee University, taught kids and ladies’ art classes at Bevill State College in Jasper, Alabama, speaks and does art projects in ladies’ conferences and youth retreats and is a devoted wife and mother.
Ben and Michelle have been blessed with three children: Nathan, Emily, & Noah.
Nathan graduated from Sumiton Christian High School and from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee, with two bachelor’s and two master’s degrees. He has taken mission trips to Honduras and Suriname, and educational tours of England, Scotland, and Israel. He works at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. In 2019, he married his high school sweetheart, Emma Latham, a graduate of UAB and a mechanical engineer at Southern Research. They live near Birmingham, Alabama.
Emily graduated from Sumiton Christian High School and Lee University with a Bachelor of Arts, in Art with a Graphic Design emphasis, and a minor in Business. She has taken a mission trip to Honduras and educational tours of England, Scotland, and Israel. She is the office administrator at Bowen Chiropractic in Jasper, Alabama. She is married to Donnie Ruth, a service technician with Jeff Coat commercial heating & air.
Noah is a gifted musician who plays drums at our church. He also plays the piano and bass guitar. He is a freshman at the University of Alabama and is on the photography team which documents UA athletics and athletes.
